Battle ground

Over Spring break Josh spent hours creating domino battle fields for his toy soldiers. I expected a real battle to begin every time Mitchell toppled them, but Josh had the discipline of a true soldier!

Adorable

Sometimes Mitchell likes to put on make-up with me in the morning. (don't tell Dallan)
This morning he told me, "Mom, I'm going to be adorable." Then proceeded to put blush all over his face. When he peeked at himself in the mirror he said, "I have way too much pink on me. I don't want to be adorable anymore."

I love this little mug.

The adventures of Flat Stanley

Josh was given a school assignment to include Flat Stanley in his Spring break activities. He kept a journal of Stanley's adventures, and he took a few pictures of his escapades as well!

The Thinker

This morning I was talking to Mitchell about what we should do for a family outing.
He told me he wanted to go to the Statue of liberty.
I told him it was very far away.
"Okay," he said. "How about the land of the butterflies...?"

We ended up staying close to home, but had fun taking the boys to lunch, playing at "Jump On It" and visiting the library. Mitchell loves going to the library. He has an infatuation with the marble statue of "The Thinker" in the lobby. He calls him "Ba Bum" because well, you can see his b.u.m. As soon as we got to the library he ran down the hall with his arms outstretched yelling BA BUM BA BUM like it was his long lost friend!
Thanks to "the Thinker," we didn't have to go very far to make Mitchell's day!

An Easter celebration

I love Easter.
I love all that it represents.
I love the opportunity to celebrate the Savior.
For it is the gift of His life
that makes it possible for me to live forever
with this precious little family of mine.
I am forever thankful.

The Easter memories we made:
*Each day of the week we talked about what was happening that day in the Savior's last week.
* The boys woke us up at 6:00 AM on Saturday morning because they were so excited about their Easter baskets!
* We had an Easter egg hunt in our backyard. Mitchell was so excited that the Easter bunny left so many hidden surprises and kept asking us what his name was!
* The boys dyed Easter Eggs with their cousins. Matthew couldn't wait to taste one and gobbled one up as soon as it was dry! Mitchell was anxious for a nibble too, but couldn't understand why the egg inside didn't change color.
* We frosted and sprinkled Easter cookies with our Moody Family including Nana and Papa from Washington!
* We loved listening to general conference and learning from our inspired church leaders.
* We had lots of fun playing games Quirkle, Snorta and Blokus! (I did win Quirkle again just in case you were wondering...)
