Spring Break?

I don't think Mother Nature got the memo that it's Spring break!
So what do you do with little boys who have to stay inside all day because it's raining?

You have to let them play ball in the rain anyway!

Mitchell couldn't quite decide if he wanted to venture out in the down pour.

He must have known that snow was on it's way!

A Sunny Monday

I knew that Monday would be our only Sunny day this week, so the boys and I spent the morning at Discovery Park.

Through the eyes of a child

After taking my camera away from Mitchell, I found this picture he took of himself.
Oh, I would love to see the world through those big brown eyes...

A child's eyes, those clear, wells of undefiled thought - what on earth can be more beautiful? Full of hope, love and curiosity, they meet your own. In prayer, how earnest; in joy, how sparkling; in sympathy, how tender! The man who never tried the companionship of a little child has carelessly passed by one of the great pleasures of life, as one passes a rare flower without plucking it or knowing its value

My favorite talk from General Conference

"One of the great consolations of this Easter season is that because Jesus walked such a long, lonely path utterly alone, we do not have to do so."

Easter Eggs

I think of the garden after the rain;
And hope to my heart comes singing,
At morn the cherry-blooms will be white,
And the Easter bells be ringing! ~Edna Dean Proctor

Our Lord has written the promise of the resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in spring-time. ~Martin Luther

The story of Easter is the story of God's wonderful window of divine surprise. ~Carl Knudsen

Happy Easter

May your day be sweet, may your heart be full, and may you feel the love of Him who we remember this special time of year.

Worms

I asked the boys to please stay out of the mud today...But I changed my mind when they reminded me they can't dig for worms if they don't get in the dirt!

They dug for wiggly little treasures, studied them like scientists, enjoyed a close up view, and they even shared their finds with Caleb!

I'll bet the mothers of all renowned treasure hunters had to rinse their fair share of muddy shoes!

Spring Picture day

This morning on his way out the door Matthew told me..."this is going to be the best picture day ever!" His sneaky grin had me wondering the day would turn out. This was our conversation on our way home from school:

Me: "How was picture day boys?"
Josh: "I got two taken!"
Me: "Why is that?"
Josh: "I pulled a face for the first one."
Me: "Moody boys shouldn't do that"
Josh: "I know, but it was the opportunity of a life time!"
Matthew: "NO FAIR" I told the picture guy to tell me when he was going to take the picture, and he didn't! He must have been able to tell I had something up my sleeve!"

My Mitchell

I can't imagine life without my little Mitchie in it!

Who says you have to wear your big boots pointed in the same direction?

Do I have something on my face?

Someone found the Easter bunny's stash and ate an entire chocolate bunny for breakfast!

Would you be able to get grouchy with him? Me either.

Big Brother

Matthew loves to crawl into Caleb's crib to snuggle him.

He loves his pudgy hands

He helps him talk

He just loves his winkie eye

He gives him "bunny ears" just like big brothers should

and when he sees he's being photographed, he finishes his snuggle in private!

April FOOLS!

This morning I told the older boys that we were going to the doctor after school to get some shots....
They about had a heart attack.
APRIL FOOL! I told them.
"Wow, you had me going Mom," said Matthew with a look of sheer terror on his face.
Hey, I had to get them back for taping the spray nozzle down in my kitchen sink.
I had a very unexpected shower when I did my dishes.
Good one, boys!

Y awards

Dallan and I got all dressed up and had a fun evening out together at the Y awards. We had a great time and enjoyed seeing highlights of BYU athletics! I must say, my date was the most handsome one of the bunch! He even carried my purse! Pretty soon I'll have him eating bagels...another girlie thing he swore he'd never do!
