Un-wanted Guest

(taken from Caleb's blog)Caleb has lots of little visitors in his lungs. Some come and go. Some stay for a while. Some settle in and make themselves at home. Caleb didn't realize that pneumonia snuck in, but he's having a hard time getting rid of it! I don't want to be inhospitable, but I'd like this trespassing guest to hit the road as soon as possible! Caleb's lungs would like some privacy! (Click on Caleb's picture on my sidebar to keep up on how he's doing!)

Blast Off!

3-2-1.... BLAST OFF to the cub scout Space Derby!

It looks like Derby gravity can do strange things to your face.

Doesn't he know it can freeze like that?

I SPY

We enjoyed an afternoon at the Walter Wick exhibit over Spring break! We are avid fans of "I SPY" around here, so we had a great time!

The Prince and the Pea

Once upon a time there was a lovable little Prince...
who liked to stack the couch cushions as high as possible...

Do you think there was a pea at the bottom of the stack?

It depends on whether or not I vacuumed that day!

Highlights from General Conference

This was a great clip to review what our prophet and the quorum of the 12 apostles taught us few weeks ago. This would be great for Family Home Evening!

Jon Schmidt

I've been a Jon Schmidt fan for years!- so when my father in law sent this clip to us after Jon visited his mission, I couldn't wait to share! My little sister, Ashley is going to LOVE this! (Taylor Swift meets Coldplay)

Blossoms in the blizzard

I woke up this morning to a fresh blanket of snow!

Do you know what I loved most about it?

These blossoms.

They didn't wait to bloom until they were sure the sunshine was here to stay. They came out anyway- and they are beautiful- even when covered in a blanket of snow they didn't expect.

Spring Break?

I don't think Mother Nature got the memo that it's Spring break!
So what do you do with little boys who have to stay inside all day because it's raining?

You have to let them play ball in the rain anyway!

Mitchell couldn't quite decide if he wanted to venture out in the down pour.

He must have known that snow was on it's way!

A Sunny Monday

I knew that Monday would be our only Sunny day this week, so the boys and I spent the morning at Discovery Park.

Through the eyes of a child

After taking my camera away from Mitchell, I found this picture he took of himself.
Oh, I would love to see the world through those big brown eyes...

A child's eyes, those clear, wells of undefiled thought - what on earth can be more beautiful? Full of hope, love and curiosity, they meet your own. In prayer, how earnest; in joy, how sparkling; in sympathy, how tender! The man who never tried the companionship of a little child has carelessly passed by one of the great pleasures of life, as one passes a rare flower without plucking it or knowing its value

My favorite talk from General Conference

"One of the great consolations of this Easter season is that because Jesus walked such a long, lonely path utterly alone, we do not have to do so."

Easter Eggs

I think of the garden after the rain;
And hope to my heart comes singing,
At morn the cherry-blooms will be white,
And the Easter bells be ringing! ~Edna Dean Proctor

Our Lord has written the promise of the resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in spring-time. ~Martin Luther

The story of Easter is the story of God's wonderful window of divine surprise. ~Carl Knudsen

Happy Easter

May your day be sweet, may your heart be full, and may you feel the love of Him who we remember this special time of year.

Worms

I asked the boys to please stay out of the mud today...But I changed my mind when they reminded me they can't dig for worms if they don't get in the dirt!

They dug for wiggly little treasures, studied them like scientists, enjoyed a close up view, and they even shared their finds with Caleb!

I'll bet the mothers of all renowned treasure hunters had to rinse their fair share of muddy shoes!
