Going to Church and Visiting the Mountains

This was the view from the patio of our unit. It was simply stunning!

We loved attending church on Sunday morning and were touched by the kindness of the members.  In Relief Society leis were given to all of the visitors.  I was touched to learn that each one took over 3 hours to make.  What a labor of love! 

That afternoon we spent some time in the mountains and even went to one of the wettest spots on earth!  We got caught in several tropical down pours on our trip and learned the real meaning of "soaked to the skin!" We loved it!

A Magical Day on the Beach

We loved spending some time on this beautiful beach!  The beach stretched farther than we could see and the ocean was crystal clear!  I loved soaking in the sunshine and finding treasures for our boys and my little preschool class.

Aloha from Kauai!

A few weeks before Thanksgiving we were blessed with the opportunity to spend a week in Hawaii!  We stayed on the island of Kauai with our dear friends who have a time-share there.  We were in heaven!   If we didn't love our kids at home so much we might have decided to stay there!

Fall Break: Topaz Mountain

Our last stop of Fall Break was Topaz Mountain. Dallan took the boys here while I was at Girls camp this summer.  They didn't find any topaz on that trip, so our little rock hounds talked us into going again! We found Lizards, snakes, and lots of fun rocks to climb on...but no topaz. Next time we're going with Grandma and Grandpa since they always seem to have success! 

 Topaz Mountain is in the middle of nowhere, but it has a simple beauty that's refreshing. They just might be able to talk us into going again!
