Fall Fun at the Cabin

At the end of Fall we spent a fun day at the cabin. The kids made a hug pile of leaves and jumped from the swing into the pile! Then grandpa brought out the s'more supplies and made a fire in his new fire pit!
Boys + leaves + fire + all the marshmallows you can eat =
 A perfect day!

Kauai's North Shore

One of our favorite days was spent on the North Shore. We spent several hours hiking on the most beautiful trail I've ever seen.  On one side was lush jungle mountain terrain, and on the other was the breath taking coast line. Our hike ended on a beach that is only accessible by taking that trail. We ate our lunch there, hiked back out and then went into town for shave ice!  We also stopped to see the Kilauea lighthouse!

Majestic Sunsets

The sunsets in Hawaii were truly majestic!  Heaven feels close in  moments like this.

Snorkeling: The Day Dallan Almost Drowned

We were really excited to go snorkeling while we were in Hawaii because we hadn't tried it since our honeymoon in Mexico!
Dallan and Mark were the first to try it out while my friend Annie and I were content to read on the beach. After a few minutes I noticed Dallan swimming back to shore. I turned to Annie and said, "Does he look a bit panicked to you? I think he looks a bit panicked..." Then I went back to reading my book. Dallan crawled back onto the beach, gave us the thumbs up, but didn't move for a while. Later we learned he really was panicking and his story about almost drowning had us all rolling with laughter!  Looking back, I guess I could jumped in to check on him, but in my defense, my book was really good :)
The next day Dallan and I went snorkeling together and had a great time. The water was filled with vivid fish and sea life and we loved every minute!

Gardens at the Hyatt

One morning we walked to the nearby Hyatt Hotel to enjoy the gardens and a scrumptious breakfast! I loved the coconut syrup and wish I could have filled my suit case with it. Yum!
