A Pretty Special Teacher

It has touched my heart to see how Mitchell's first grade teacher continues to care about him.   Even though she hasn't taught him in school for 2 years, she continues to teach him what it really means to care about someone.

First Day of School 2015

This year Josh is in High School, Matthew is in Junior High and Mitchell is in Elementary school! When they were little I was warned how fast the time would go  Even though I've made a conscious effort to soak in every moment, I can hardly believe how quickly they are growing up.  I love all that they are becoming as they learn and grow,  but I sure do miss them when they are at school.

I hope they know how dear are to me.

Baadsgaard Reunion

We recently had our Baadsgaard reunion with my parents and all of my siblings!  We had a great weekend!  We started our reunion with a 5K together.  That evening we had a yummy dinner and then watched a video of my parents for their 40th wedding anniversary.  The next day we gathered again for John's farewell.  He gave a wonderful talk at church and we enjoyed lunch together afterwards.

Oh how I love being with my family! 

Elder Baadsgaard

This week my brother John left to serve a mission for two years.  He will be serving in the Denmark mission.  John is a wonderful brother, an adored uncle and dear friend.  Though he is my little brother he has been like a big brother to me in so many ways.  

He  has also been such a wonderful example to my boys. 

The week before he left he took Josh, Matthew and my little sister to do baptisms for the dead.  He was even able to do the baptizing.  What a sweet memory to make before he left...

This is the testimony he shared on face book the night before he left. 
... I wanted to take an opportunity to share my testimony before I leave to serve the saints in Denmark.
I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's church on the earth. I know that this wonderful gospel was revealed in its fullness by Joseph Smith, and that we have priesthood authority to carry out God's work.
I know that we have a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson, who leads and guides our church under the direction of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. It is a further witness that Jesus is the Christ. I know that we can come closer to God by living its precepts.
Most of all, I know that we have a Savior, Jesus Christ, who suffered and died for each of us so that we can be forgiven, and one day become like him.
I am eternally grateful for the opportunity I have to serve the Lord for the next two years. Thanks to all of you that have helped me get to this point.

Promontory Point

On our way home from Washington we stopped at Promontory Point. The site is in the middle of no-where and as we were driving we saw a sign that said there was also a fee to visit the site. Matthew groaned and said, "We are driving through the middle of no-where and we have to PAY to see it? What kind of suckers are we?" 

 As it turns out it was worth it, and we enjoyed seeing this neat part of Utah History.

Golden Spike National Historic Site shares the stories of the people and settings that define the completion of the first Transcontinental Railroad.

Baptisms at the Columbia River Temple

While we were in Washington, the boys did baptisms for the dead. It was great to be in the temple at the same time as Dallan's Parents were working there. I love these boys and their willingness to serve in the temple! 

Cousin Time

While we were in Washington we enjoyed spending time in the homes of each of Dallan's siblings that live there- Our last visit was with Dean and Sarah where they let us enjoy their animals!

Mount Rainier

Our day spent at Mount Rainier was awesome!  It felt like we were hiking in Europe!  The hillsides were covered in wild flowers, and the thick forest was magical!  We loved spending the day with our Moody family and loved having some special time with Papa!
