For our Relief Society meeting this week the theme was create.
Each sister was asked to bring something she created to display.
I decided to bring a picture of my boys with a note attached that said
"I create really cute little boys."
As I've been reflecting on that note,
I think I had it all wrong.
I don't think I can take any credit for my beautiful boys.
Each one was a work of art when he was first placed in my arms.
As I've reflected on the process of raising boys I've realized
I am not the artist.
They are creating me-
and the privilege of loving them
is my greatest masterpiece.

Oh I love this post. That's the way I feel about my children and now my grandchildren.
I love your perspective! That picture of Mitchell and his HUGE smile just melts my heart! You DO create beautiful boys, and they in turn have created a beautiful mother. :) xoxo
so true! love your insights~
beautifully said, April. You are an amazing mother.
I agree. The biggest surprise about parenting for me was the transformation that would take place inside of me. I thought it would be all about the way my love and service would change my kids. But it isn't changing them. It's changing me.
I LOVE the picture of Mitchell!!! They are all so handsome. You're a wonderful mother.
You DO create beautiful boys! Look at those pictures! And if they're responsible for you, they've sure created a masterpiece!
ok, so if children make the parents, your children are freaking genious's and if parents make the children, your mom and dad rock. i love your boys. they are precious!
