Matthew's 12th Birthday

Matthew has been really looking forward to turning 12. He couldn't wait to become a deacon and attend the temple for the first time! The family history consultant in our ward taught the older boys how to find names to take to the temple, and Matthew caught the vision immediately! Both Dallan and I assumed all of our family lines had their work completed, but Matthew found over 100 ordinances that still needed to be done! Matthew was ordained to be a deacon on his birthday so he could attend the temple 2 days later.  He was able to be baptised for several deceased family members he found himself. I was so proud of him.

Each year for the boys' birthdays I check them out from school at lunch time and take them out for lunch.  For Matthew's birthday lunch he choose to go to Chuck-a-rama.  He loves getting all you can eat... and usually fills his plate with Mac and cheese with fries. For his birthday dinner he choose lasagna with garlic bread, salad and chocolate cake.
I love Matthew!  He has a passionate heart and a strong spirit. I love to hear him play the piano and practice his cello, and have enjoyed seeing him grow into a remarkable young man!
Happy birthday Matty!
