I am surrounded by such good people.
One of whom gave me some tulip bulbs last fall.
One of whom gave me some tulip bulbs last fall.

He shared his bulbs with many of us.
I can't help but smile when I drive down my street
and see clusters of happy yellow tulips waving hello as I pass.

My rosebushes have been pruned by him. My leaves have been raked...
and my yard is more beautiful because he was there.
He has been in Afghanistan for the past few months,
and he'll be returning soon for a short stay with his sweet family.

There may not be yellow ribbons tied to our trees,
but there are clusters of yellow tulips to welcome him home and say
thank you.

That is a beautiful post, April.
I would love to meet this very kind man someday. MOM
Love the color yellow, and ALL that it represents.
Ditto Joy! :) I love the "Yellow Hello". That's great. What a sweet tribute to your kindly neighbor. We'll keep him in his prayers so that he can return home to his family safely.
love the tulips, they make us happy don't they?

Love the tulips. Mine are fading but I did enjoy them so much. I had a few yellow, reds, oranges--beautiful ones. You still have yours to enjoy, and what a nice way to greet a friend coming home.
Loved this post, April. It made me want to plant TULIPS!
Wow, what a great way to honor someone. I can think of no better way.
